An Instagram carousel designed moving the infographic into a more social media-friendly format.
Exploration:
I began by researching the science behind decomposition, studying the natural process, looking at some gross images, and breaking down the process to its roots (pun intended). From there, I translated that information into a playful visual story, using simple shapes, expressive illustrations, and a bright color palette to make the topic feel more approachable.
For the concept I wanted to add to the overall nice coziness and lead the viewers eye down through the piece, so I had a worm tunnel dig around and down the graphic to it's cozy home.
For the visual style I decided on natural, earthy natural color palette, just more saturated. The combination of organic colors, friendly typography, and charming illustrations helped push the infographic toward a children’s book-inspired aesthetic.
